The Heart of the Gospel Series

More and more I realize that the Gospel is never going to be something I grasp completely.  The moment that I think I have it figured out, is the moment that I’m trusting in myself instead of God.  John Piper states “Never never never never never never never never never outgrow your need for the gospel.”

My desire during this series is to explore my understanding of the gospel and to begin to better understand what it means for my life.

In this series, we’ll be looking at the heart of the gospel and how it means:

  1. We are intentionally saved: Part 1, Part 2
  2. We are being transformed rather than conformed
  3. We love Jesus more than the idea of Jesus
  4. No more good days and bad days
  5. Everything: Part 1, Part 2

To get started, the following is a video from Matt Chandler on why the gospel of Christ is radically different from other religions, and radically different from religion itself.  I think this is a good place to start as we examine how and why the gospel is worth everything.
